Rest and relax in the idyllic charm of the Lake House Bed and Breakfast. Located in the foothills of the White Mountains of Maine, built in the 1790's. Lake House Bed and Breakfast is surrounded by white clapboard houses, all of which are listed on the National Registry of Historic Places.

Chef-owner Michael Myers believes that dinner at the Lake House Bed and Breakfast is an experience to be savored. With the Wine Spectator Award of Excellence for the past 18 years, Michael is well versed in suggesting the appropriate wine to complement your meal. Lake House Bed and Breakfast has been featured in Bon Appetit - August 2002, Downeast Magazine, Food & Wine, Yankee Magazine, Travel & Leisure, Country Inn and Diversion.

Among the seven guestrooms is the Grand Ballroom Suite, an expansive room fashioned out of the former ballroom with its original spring-loaded floor. The vaulted ceiling with fans is the perfect canopy for the freestanding claw-footed tub and shower, with the sink located on a raised stage at the far end of the room.

The tastefully appointed bedrooms have been designed to capture the original look and feel of the late 1700s when Lake House Bed and Breakfast was first built. Yet you will find all of the modern conveniences like coffee makers, hairdryers, and bathrobes to make yours a pleasurable stay. Full country breakfast is served each morning in the award winning dining room.

Two country rooms and a two bedroom suite occupy the remaining space on the second floor in the main part of the house available year round. The attached Carriage House, renovated in 1999, houses the three other guestrooms available in the warmer months of May to October.

How to Find Us

From Points South:
From the Maine Turnpike, get off at exit #8, Westbrook. Passing through tollbooth, take a right at the lights. Go approximately 1.25 miles to the third set of lights. Take a left onto route 302. Proceed approximately 25 miles to a set of lights in the town of Naples. Take a right onto route 35. Proceed 12 miles to the village of Harrison. Take a left at the stop sign to stay on route 35. Pass through the village, stay to right on route 35. Lake House is located 5 miles down the road on the left on route 35.

From North Conway, New Hampshire:
East on Route 302 to Bridgton. Left onto Route 117 North. Travel for 3 miles. Left onto Route 37 North. At the STOP sign is the junction of RTS 35 & 37. Bear left at the STOP sign and proceed 2 miles. Lake House is on the left. 686 Waterford Rd.

Driving from points North:
Maine Turnpike South to Exit 12 Auburn
Route 121 to Route 26 to Oxford. Go 7 miles to Norway. Left onto Route 118 West to East Waterford, 11 miles. Left onto Route 37 and proceed 3 miles to Lake House which will be on your right.

Driving from Bethel, Sunday River area:
Route 2 West. Left on Route 5 @ Mobil station. Proceed approx. 12 miles to STOP @ Route 118 & 35. Take Left Go 1 mile and bear Right on Route 35 @ Kosi's Variety. Continue on Rt. 35 for 5 miles to STOP @ corner of 35 & 37. Bear right and Lake House is on the right after the STOP sign. If you get lost, call 207-583-4182.
